Organisations or Teams
Organisations or teams, thanks for wanting to put yourselves on the map.
Before you plunge in, just a quick reminder that your organisation or team profile is for children and young people (main target children of 9 - to young people of 14) to read, not expert adults! So, tempting though it might be to cut and paste from the company website and put in a company logo, please remember the audience, and write a profile that's friendly for them to read, and upload an image of people at your workplace, or working in your field, to make your profile feel approachable. Your profiles are moderated, so they won't pop up on the map right away. Thanks!
If you're wondering if you may be on the map...
Firstly 'Science' includes any kind of science, health, technology, engineering and mathematics.
‘Organisation’ includes any group effort where science is most or part of the work involved, in any sector.
'Team' can be any team within a science organisation who wish to put themselves on the map together, or a science team (e.g. the IT team) from an otherwise non-science organisation.
You can put your organisation on the map if it is primarily a science organisation, or has aspects of science, and/or needs to employ any people with any kind of science qualifications. We would also like you to tell us about others you employ in the organisational questionnaire, who support the science in your organisation, even if they are not science people. It'll be nice for non-science types to know you don’t have to be a science person to work within the science community.
You can choose to just have an organisation profile, or an organisation profile and individual profiles of your science people if they are willing, or you can make a ‘place-portrait’ an image of your organisation featuring your employees, which also has the profiles of individuals/organisation attached. There is a special section of this site with information about making a place-portrait.
You May Not Be On The Map If...
Your profile is just to advertise your company about which none of the above applies, or you have made your profile an 'advert' and left out any science careers or science information. We won't publish any profiles like this.
If you've appreciated your visit to the map, and you'd like to support the work of the Science Council's careers websites, Future Morph and the Hidden Science Map, you can make a charitable donation.
If you have any questions about whether you can be on the map please email: email@example.com
Thank you for putting your organisation on the Map, may your organisation's pin get ten thousand clicks.
