Route to training or education
My A levels were in History, Maths and Physics and I have a Masters degree in Geology with Planetary Science. I am currently working towards my PhD.
Your training/education
I'm a PhD student at the University of Manchester. I study the chemistry of meteorites to help us understand how our Solar System formed and evolved.
Was the route to your training or education typical, unusual or a bit of both?
Typical
Day in life
My working life is a mix of reading scientific papers, planning experiments, preparing meteorite samples, running my experiments in the laboratory, working through the data I collect, writing up my work for publication or preparing to present it at meetings and conferences. To see the sort of things my lab group are interested in take a look at our blog: http://earthandsolarsystem.wordpress.com/
